Dublin Whiskey Fest, Ireland’s first whiskey festival, will be spread across the city in over 20 venues from February 16th-21st. The city’s leading bars and restaurants taking part will be offering 30% off either an Irish Hot Toddy, an Irish Coffee, an Irish Whiskey Cocktail, an Irish Whiskey paired with a local craft beer or an Irish whiskey served neat. To avail of these special discounted drinks, a €5 wristband can be bought from Entertainment.ie or from any participating venues.

As part of the festival, Whiskey Fest will be running a competition to see who can make the best Irish coffee! Who can make the ultimate Irish coffee- the barista or the bartender?!

Here’s how it works:

~ To enter the competition, you have to be working as a bartender in a fully licensed Dublin premises or working as a barista in a Dublin cafe, hotel or restaurant.
~ To put forward your Irish coffee, share your recipe along with a photo of the completed drink on  Facebook www.facebook.com/GreatIrishBeverages or on twitter @IrishBeverages with the #dublinwhiskeyfest hashtag.
~ Each entrant must use a whiskey from the Teeling portfolio and a coffee from the 3FE range.
~ The closing date for entering is January 30th at 12pm.
~ From the first round, five baristas and five bartenders will be chosen to go into a final on February 16th to make their Irish coffee and where there will be just one winner.

The winning entrant will receive some excellent prizes! Teeling are offering a bottle of their new make whiskey, this will be the first whiskey distilled in Dublin since 1976, a superb collector’s item.

3FE Coffee are giving away a personal year long supply of coffee and a home brewing kit. And as an extra bonus, we’re putting up €250 in cash!

It’s time to start thinking about how you can make that perfect Irish coffee. Consider the ratio of whiskey to coffee, the sweetening agent, the spices, the garnishes, the cream, the glassware and anything else that you think can make it special!
