After quite a substantial break from the gym, I finally got myself back on plan and have just finished a 6 week personal training course. I finally feel like I’m getting stronger, and I’ve so much more energy. Anyone who follows me on Instagram will know that I love my food (and treats!), and while I am trying to be more mindful with my diet, I’m not obsessing over it. Protein is essential for post workout muscle recovery, and apart from the obvious (eggs, meats), it can be difficult to find some variety.

Lately I’ve been introduced to Herbalife Nutrition Formula 1, which is a great addition to smoothies, and really handy for an on the go breakfast. One 26g serving of Herbalife contains 18g protein as well as essential vitamins and minerals. I’ve also added some chia seeds to this recipe for an extra protein punch! You can really make these shakes your own – as chef Rachel Allen illustrates with her two Herbalife Nutrition Formula 1 recipes – Fruit Burst and Green Goddess. The only key decision I have now is deciding which one to whip up first!

Ingredients:

26g Herbalife Nutrition Formula 1 (I used the raspberry and blackberry flavour)
½ Banana
120g Berries (I used a mix of blueberries and strawberries)
75ml Oat Milk
A handful of ice
1 tsp of Chia Seeds

Method:

Blitz all ingredients in a food processor and serve either in a flask to enjoy on the go, or in a bowl topped with your favourite fruit and nuts!
