This smoked salmon dip always goes down well with everyone. Serve it as a dip, use it for canapés (pictured), or serve it as a starter with some salad and even some prawns if you’re feeling fancy. You can make it the day ahead to save you some time on the big day!

There is always an abundance of smoked salmon in the fridge at Christmas and this is a great way to use it up, it’s also very simple to make so it’s great for those last minute panics! This recipe serves 8 as a dip/canapes or 4 as a starter.

Ingredients

200g smoked salmon
200g cream cheese
juice of 1/2-1 lemon, depending on taste
salt and pepper
small bunch of dill or chives

smoked salmon pate

Method

Simply add everything into a food processor and blitz.

If serving as a starter, it is sometimes nice to mix in some extra chopped salmon or prawns at the end for some texture.
