Another week, another great round up of Foodie events in Dublin!
Grow, Cook, Eat Launch
To celebrate the launch of their new book, Michael Kelly and the GIY (Grow It Yourself) team will be celebrating all things food at Hodges Figgis, Dawson Street on Tuesday October 21st. The book features recipes from some of Ireland’s most loved chefs- Donal Skehan, Rachel Allen, Domini Kemp, Nevin Maguire and Clodagh McKenna. All proceeds of the book go towards the development of Grow HQ, GIY’s food education centre, which is due to open in Waterford in 2015. There will be lots of talks and cookery demos (with appearances from Rachel Allen and Sharon Hearne Smith!), as well as book signings. For the full line up click here.
Pomona Pop Up
Scallops, fermented oats and squash is just one of the ten courses (yes, TEN!) being served at the Pomona Pop Up at 84 Thomas Street this Bank Holiday Weekend (October 26th and 27th). Run by Jason Walsh (currently a chef in L’ecrivain) and Lumir Tousek (former head chef of L’ecrivain), this fine dining pop up features a feast of locally sourced, autumnal produce. The tasting menu costs €80 and it’s BYOB (no corkage) so you can enjoy your favourite wine with the meal. Check them out on Twitter (@PomonaPopUp) for the full menu.
Feast Your Eyes @ IFI
Experience a feast for your eyes and your stomach this Wednesday October 22nd in the Irish Film Institute. For just €20 you can enjoy a meal in the IFI cafe bar followed by a screening of El Bulli: Cooking in Progress. The film documents a three michelin star restaurant in Spain which was internationally known for its avant grade and scientifically innovative 35 course tasting menus.

Wow, the Pomona pop up sounds amazing! At least the BYO option will take the sting out of the price tag 😉
