November is here and the Christmas festivities are beginning. What a wonderful time of year! I love the buzz of Dublin at Christmas time, and with the Grafton Street Christmas lights being turned on this Thursday, I thought I had to include some festive events in my foodie things to do in Dublin this week!

1. Fallon and Byrne Christmas Extravaganza

Fallon and Byrne will be hosting an evening of festive food and wine tastings this Thursday November 13th. I have been to this event myself and they really do have the best of everything you could need for a delicious christmas (with lots of tastings too!). It will take place in the ballroom upstairs from 4-9pm. Why not see the Grafton Street Christmas lights being turned on beforehand to really get you in the festive spirit!

2. Irish Times Food Quiz at Avoca

As part of Food Month, Irish Times are having a food and wine quiz at Avoca Suffolk Street on Wednesday November 12th at 7pm. If you think you know your brie from your comte why not pop along and enjoy a three course meal with quizmaster Tom Kelly and Irish Times food writer Lily Higgins. The event costs €25 and further information and booking details are available on their website.

3. Enjoy a Meal on the Pier at Aqua

Aqua seafood restaurant in Howth have a suburb deal on for the month of November. With stunning views of Dublin Bay, you can enjoy a three course meal for two from their revamped a la carte menu with prosecco on arrival and a bottle of wine for only €99. Their starter of fresh crab spring roll with locally smoked salmon, caviar, avocado cream and lemon emulsion sounds very tempting! The deal is valid until the end of November and must be booked through their website.
